Whirlwind Weekend

Flew down to GA to see my girlfriend, Laura, on a Buddy Pass for the weekend.  I was invited down for a Birthday Carnival for her kids.  Fun!!!! :)  Original plans were to fly out Friday at 1pm-ish and fly back Sunday at 1pm-ish…  Unfortunately, we had to watch seat availability, so that plan was blown out of the window.

Friday she calls me and we have to bump my flight out to 4:30, so I didn't get there until 7:30ish…  Her and her hubby, Jason, meet me at the airport.  Jason and I go out for some drinks, food and Stanley Cup watching, while her and the kids wait for her mom to get in from FL.  Unfortunately, Wings lose and her mom's flight is late.  So Jason and I finish up drinks, wipe our tears away since the Wings sucked it up and run an errand for the party the next day.  Laura and I wrapped up some goodie bags for the kiddies, chatted and headed to sleep around midnight.

Saturday I get up and chat with Laura's mom for a while, then showered.  We all head over to the in-laws, where the party was to be held, around 9am.  Once there, we all work to get things set up - Bouncy Tent, Face Painting Tent, Game Tent, Craft Tent, Food area, etc…  Folks began to arrive around 1:30ish…party lasted until 5ish.  We finally got back to her place around 8ish and the kids opened up their pressies.  :)  Around 11pm we check flight availability for my Sunday flight back and see that the flight I'm on is over booked and tons of folks are on standby, sooooo…we change my flight out to 7:30 a.m.  ACK!  LOL!  Off to bed we go…

Sunday get up at 5:30ish and head to the airport…  Boo!  I wish I could have stayed longer it was great seeing her and getting to know her hubbie and hang with the kids.  I get home around 10 a.m. after picking up my car from having front brake pads changed, play with doggies a bit, decide to run errands - Costco, Walmart, Sprint store (needed a new phone!), unpack all the treasures, unpack from the weekend, do some laundry, tidy up the house, have some lunch, relax a bit, go for a 4.5 mile run, water grass, cook dinner…collapse.

It was a great weekend.  I really needed to get away.  I wish I could have stayed longer, but there is always next time! :)

If you are in need of another weekend away sometime, I know of a free place you can stay in the Chicagoland area! ;)
Glad you had a fun weekend and reading about it made ME tired!
